Depth and presence devices
A depth camera estimates distances within a scene through its particular imaging method. Millimeter-wave presence equipment uses radio measurements to support selected estimates of presence or movement. Staff can compare these methods with conventional images while planning room observation.
Each arrangement requires testing in the actual venue. Furniture, material, placement, multiple people, the processing method affect possible reconstruction. Staff document the kind of event the installation can support, the uncertainty, known failures, association with other records.
Presence can describe occupancy without a personal identity. More detailed movement or association can increase the information retained. Staff decide those operations explicitly through room sensing, spatial observation, retention. A lower-detail measurement still requires explanation of its purpose and use.
