Retention periods
Administrators select a lifetime for records according to their purpose and permission. They examine source records, derived representations, backups, caches, delivered material, later queries. A local buffer and an object condition record serve different purposes.
| Interval or purpose | Proposed treatment |
|---|---|
| Immediate activity | Process selected signals in memory where feasible. |
| Session reconstruction | Maintain an encrypted local buffer with an explicit expiry. |
| Approved encounter | Retain the agreed fields and attribution under their scope. |
| Longitudinal participation | Maintain the agreed continuing participant account with context, correction, access. |
| Custodial administration | Preserve necessary history, condition, terms, responsibility. |
| Research | Use the separate experiment's purpose, access, review, retention arrangement. |
Staff can clear a raw recording while retaining an approved event with a stated evidentiary limit. They can also remove personal attribution while preserving an authorized repair in the object's biography where appropriate. Withdrawal requires locating derivatives such as embeddings or generated summaries. Researchers examine whether this arrangement preserves useful object memory through memory comparison.
