Disclosure alternatives
Hosts can disclose a selected account before an encounter, introduce it during activity, reveal it afterward, preserve anonymity, decide case by case. They also decide how to explain research, interpretation, a possible future invitation, a particular staged device.
Prior disclosure supplies context while possibly directing attention toward a custodian's status or intended meaning. Delayed disclosure preserves an initial independent account while requiring later examination of the information sequence. Continuing anonymity can support mediated correspondence with a narrow public question. Accidental recognition complicates each arrangement.
Staff document the actual choice and review its consequences for behavior, trust, privacy, useful participation. Timing, comparison, asymmetry provide the method. Recording knowledge and custodial identity remain separate issues even when discussed during the same arrival procedure.
