Contents

Organizers follow contributions through connected activities. They revise their accounts throughout the sequence because new material can change an earlier interpretation or proposed encounter.

Acquisition

Researchers prepare preliminary accounts, conduct extended visits, make portraits, examine belongings, compare the material, acquire selected possessions. Staff digitize and research deposits while organizers review collection variety and space. The acquisition round continues until appropriate material and capacity support the intended occasion.

Inhabitation

Organizers arrange a shared interior. An optional Unpacking can supply independent placements and explanations. Guests then use the collection during Housewarming and later visits. Staff document actual activity, practical conditions, new material, changed arrangements.

Interpretation

Researchers compare participant and object records with event activity, supplied accounts, apparent non-interaction in context. People can express, inspect, dispute, revise interpretations. Staff preserve attribution and the information available during a decision. Participant enrichment and object memory continue together.

Circulation

Organizers deliver portraits, letters, profiles, reports, proposed encounters, loans, returns. Participants may meet, form a group, contribute another possession, continue a question. Later visits, object conversations, guided exploration extend the work through actual responses.
