Challenge to an interpretation
A participant can identify a disputed statement, proposed use, institutional inference, public description. Staff locate the author, source, context, evidence, current audience. A reviewer examines the participant's response and decides the appropriate correction, attribution, further inquiry, access change.
The participant may correct an acquisition date, dispute a psychological reading, explain an omitted circumstance, withdraw publication of a private story. The reviewer separates these issues because they call for different decisions. An independently supported material fact can remain alongside a disagreement about meaning.
Staff communicate the outcome, update dependent records, document the reason and remaining disagreement where permitted. Disputed accounts, revision, institutional responsibility make the process accountable. The reviewer should have a practical way to alter current presentation rather than merely adding a note without examining its consequences.
