Narration modes
Authors and software can provide different kinds of accounts around a possession. Staff label the mode, source, author or generation process, purpose, permitted use so a reader can interpret it appropriately.
| Mode | Example and treatment |
|---|---|
| Documented detail | An examiner records a visible modification and the observation date. |
| Attributed recollection | A custodian remembers receiving the camera from a relative. |
| Uncertain reconstruction | A researcher proposes a repair period from incomplete evidence. |
| Imaginative narration | An author or model writes an invented account from the object's perspective. |
Fiction can support artistic or projective activity. Staff preserve its status when it influences a later interpretation. A visitor's actual response to that fiction becomes another event with its own account. Invention, attribution, generated authorship develop these cases. The distinction should remain available in the interface rather than requiring inspection of a hidden technical log.
