Heart activity and skin conductance
Researchers can examine heart rate, variation in intervals between beats, skin conductance during a specified occasion. Heart-related devices estimate activity through their available sensors and processing. Skin-conductance equipment measures changes in electrical conductance associated with the skin. The actual device and procedure determine the record available for analysis.
Staff can compare an interval before handling, during an encounter, after a conversation while accounting for movement and other context. A numerical change permits several possible explanations. Researchers need repeated observations or a suitable comparison when assessing a particular relation to the activity.
The project has considered consumer wearables as possible contributed sources alongside dedicated experimental equipment. Actual access, sampling, processing, suitability require verification for the selected device. Carried devices, synchronization, physiological inquiry explain those design requirements. Staff retain a distinction between a signal description and a named emotional interpretation.
