Continuing participant representations
After each visit, human researchers and AI-assisted processes organize the interview, photographs, examined possessions, available digital material, prior research. They prepare linked representations of the participant's practices, references, relationships, questions, selections, expressed attachments. They retain the sources and circumstances of each interpretation.
Researchers compare the preliminary account with the encounter. They examine differences among spoken explanations, visible surroundings, physical use, online presentation. They can retain several readings of a contradiction, ask a follow-up question, revise an earlier association. Software can assist with transcription, image description, indexing, clustering, proposed connections. A researcher examines the source material before adopting a consequential interpretation.
The working representation can remain extensive across modalities and visits. Researchers connect new contributions with earlier ones while preserving dates, context, uncertainty, changing permission. They can prepare a narrower account for a specific recipient or encounter proposal. The internal research account, a participant-facing portrait, a public description receive separate editorial choices.
After the Housewarming, researchers revisit the account using the participant's activity with unfamiliar objects and other guests. Later visits permit further comparison. Within-person comparison, between-person comparison, longitudinal inquiry, continuity develop the ongoing work. Researchers examine the usefulness of interpretations through further accounts and actual encounters.
