Event extraction
Software proposes an event from selected records. It can compare a signal with a tested pattern, examine image sequences, identify a possible reference in speech. Staff specify the event under consideration and inspect the source before retaining a consequential interpretation.
A shelf load change may support a lifting proposal. An image may clarify the book involved. Another object moving nearby may provide an alternative explanation. Staff retain the source, timing, possible association, uncertainty, review status. They can correct or discard the proposal after examining context.
The extraction task needs evaluation through known activities and difficult cases. Researchers compare missed or incorrect events and their effect on an actual decision. Signals, images, comparison explain the procedure. Extracting a physical action leaves the visitor's meaning as a separate inquiry.
