Switches, accelerometers, load cells

Staff choose simple sensors according to a particular physical change. A switch records a change in contact or position. An accelerometer records acceleration along its available axes. A load cell responds to applied force through an associated measurement arrangement.

A compartment switch can support an opening event. Movement on the camera can support a proposed handling sequence. A shelf load change can support lifting or replacing a book. Staff test the installation with known actions, examine other possible causes, retain the basis for later event extraction.

The device may alter handling, require power, need maintenance, affect condition. A custodian's permission and the examiner's care plan govern attachment. Object sensing, event extraction, condition connect the signal to a reviewed institutional account. The actual event description remains more specific than a generic activity count.
