Material participation axes

The proposed dimensions compare activities along holding and projection, singular and social participation, inscription and enactment. Staff can use them while considering an encounter, then examine whether the distinctions help explain the result.

Holding concerns receiving, preserving, containing. Projection concerns expressing or showing. Singular participation concerns an individual's relation during an interval. Social participation concerns shared use or circulation. Inscription concerns a retained mark or state. Enactment concerns activity unfolding through use. These are descriptions of operations and emphasis rather than measured universal positions.

A reader privately examines a book, later annotates it for another reader, then performs a passage at a table. The same material copy supports different positions. A cup can move from serving to remembrance or plant care. The proposed cube arranges the dimensions for comparison. Staff can revise its use after examining difficult examples rather than treating a coordinate as an object's identity. Families, state, classification provide related descriptions.
