Object state

Staff describe an object's situation at a selected time: physical condition, location, current custodian, permitted activities, active relations, status of relevant accounts. A later action can change some parts while leaving others intact.

The camera may remain physically unchanged after a custodian makes a family account private. A repair may change operation while a historical question remains unresolved. A return changes custody even if a selected public description persists. Staff therefore retain material, interpretive, permission histories separately.

Software examines the relevant events and current permission rules during reconstruction. Staff can inspect the camera's location during a particular Housewarming, review permitted uses, examine the description available to the visitor. They use a current status label for a summary, then consult the event history for its basis and changes. State reconstruction develops the procedure.
