Traveling custody

A possession can leave the house under an agreed loan or transfer while staff continue its material and relational account. Before handoff, staff identify the responsible party, condition, permitted use, interval, transport, contact, onward movement, return procedure.

A borrower uses the camera and returns it with prints. A reader passes a book under a permitted sequence. A restorer examines a tool at another workshop. Each case has different care and authority. Private location or identity can remain separate from a selected public account of circulation.

Staff update the passport after handoff, relevant use, change, return. They review new contributions under their own authorship and permission. Transfers, relays, mobile venues examine related arrangements. The continuing address requires maintenance even when an object leaves institutional premises.
