Lending and transfer
Staff distinguish physical possession, temporary custodial responsibility, ownership, permission for onward use. A borrower can hold an object temporarily while another person retains ownership. A gift or sale changes the relevant ownership arrangement and requires its own authority and record.
Before a loan, staff document condition, recipient responsibility, permitted activity, interval, transport, contact, return, response to damage or interruption. The public history can describe selected movement while protecting private location or identity. A subsequent handoff requires authorization appropriate to the actual agreement.
Traveling custody and relays extend these operations. Software can propose a candidate or occasion under conditions, while the actual transfer follows the authorized review. Staff retain a clear account of the party responsible during each interval.
