Read-write reality

People interpret material environments and alter them through use, arrangement, repair, inscription, transfer. The phrase read-write reality describes this combination of interpretation and action. Computation can add selected records, addresses, versioned accounts, permission review.

A visitor reads an annotation, inserts a permitted reply, moves a book, changes the conditions for another visitor. A repaired camera permits a later portrait. Staff can record those operations and connect their consequences. They retain the difference between an attributed interpretation and a physical change.

The framework informs action grammar, classification, new contributions. Reverse skeuomorphism examines particular digital operations given material form. The current institution develops the operations through its own custody, participation, and care arrangements.
