Reverse skeuomorphism

Skeuomorphism describes using features of an earlier medium or object within a new design. The earlier framework uses reverse skeuomorphism for giving selected digital operations a physical implementation while retaining material conditions and history.

A digital reference can become a labeled possession or a passed book. A permission can become a credential governing a particular material action. A versioned account can accompany repairs and transfers. Staff need to describe the actual implementation because a physical possession has weight, condition, care, singular history absent from an interchangeable screen representation.

Within ACHOiR, addresses, authorization, physical action, continued records develop these examples. The term supplies historical context for the design method. A reader can understand the museum's operations through those developed explanations without adopting an earlier project architecture.
