Relations expressed through objects
People describe an encounter more precisely through the relation among actor, possession, setting, recipient. Staff can use the following vocabulary while interviewing or recording an event. The terms identify different questions rather than replacing a full account.
| Relation | Concrete account |
|---|---|
| From | A participant receives the cup from a neighbor, then later entrusts it. |
| With | Two visitors operate equipment together using another person's tool. |
| Through | A custodian receives a technical reply through the camera's public question. |
| For | A photographer makes a portrait for its subject under an agreed use. |
| To | A reader addresses an inserted note to a future reader. |
| Without | A visitor interprets the object before receiving its custodial history. |
| Against | A repairer contests a prior account using a physical demonstration. |
| Beyond | A borrower continues the use after carrying the possession outside the house. |
An event may involve several relations. Staff can record a photograph made by a visitor, with another guest, through the deposited camera, for a later correspondent. The actual account retains the relevant authority and participants. Event records and the Inter-View use this grammar during different stages.
