Tableware

Tableware includes cups, dishes, vessels, serving implements. People use these possessions while preparing, offering, receiving food or drink. Staff examine construction, repair, repeated use, household practice, suitability for the proposed activity.

A custodian may describe a cup through years of serving a neighbor. During Housewarming, a visitor offers tea in it and asks about the handle. The earlier account and current act belong to different occasions. The cup can continue in ordinary use while acquiring a new relation to the house.

Staff establish whether the particular vessel is suitable for food service, the handling required by a repair, the permissions for further use. A cup used as a planter adds a relation to Terra. The family vocabulary follows those activities. Hospitality and kitchen activity explain how serving can support cooperation without requiring a separate interpretive exercise.
