Staff consider people, object, setting, question, activity, timing together while composing a proposed encounter. They examine the possible interaction in that situation rather than only selecting a person from a ranking.
A pair can examine a repair question. A small group can compare different accounts of a photograph. Participants can encounter material independently before meeting. The curator can introduce a possession before its custodian so their initial interpretations remain available for discussion.
The proposal needs a particular reason, practical conditions, participant choices, review. Staff record the actual offer, events, accounts, later consequences. They may discover a better activity during the encounter. Configuration, scene design, authored activity develop this work. Research compares the offered situation with a recommendation or another configuration.
