Reports to custodians

Staff can send a custodian selected news about encounters with their possession. A report can describe new use, a contributed account, an unanswered question, a resulting work, a possible reply. It connects the custodian's earlier contribution with continuing activity elsewhere.

A book's custodian may receive an account of a visitor responding to an annotation. A camera's custodian may receive a print from a later session. Staff distinguish the object's report from disclosure of every visitor's private history. They prepare the account according to the relevant contributions and intended audience.

The report can invite another annotation, a correction, consent for a proposed exchange, renewed custody, a visit. Delivery can occur after a particular event, at intervals, through a participant-selected notification. Organizers specify frequency and scope so ongoing memory produces a useful return rather than an assumed demand for attention.

Broadcast, returns, accumulated accounts, continuity describe the continuing sequence. A report can itself receive a later reply and become part of the possession's developing record.
