Constellation

A constellation is a meaningful grouping of possessions and people through location, co-use, shared history, or an expressed relation. Participants create an arrangement, explain it, inhabit it, revise it. Staff can preserve the grouping as a particular configuration through time.

A lamp illuminates a book at a table. A visitor places a camera beside them because of a travel association. Another person moves the camera to a workbench after noticing a repair. The material placement and the reasons require different records. A changed position alone leaves several explanations available.

Staff use arrangement records while comparing groups during Unpacking. Repeated use can establish a remembered reading corner or a shared repair setting. The grouping can have a biography even after its possessions separate. The composite house extends the same inquiry to the whole domestic setting.
