Private custody identity

Staff retain the information required to establish authority to deposit, contact the responsible person, arrange return, administer agreed care and correspondence. They keep it separate from public object descriptions and computational material used for a different purpose.

For a camera deposit, the registrar records the responsible contact and authority, term, return procedure. The public passport can disclose a selected biography while withholding that contact. A curator considering a reply receives only the information necessary for the proposed operation under the relevant role.

Separation requires actual access rules, storage arrangements, logs, staff procedures. Permission, local processing, custodian unavailability explain further needs. Pseudonymous visitor participation can use a different arrangement because custody may impose responsibilities absent from a single contribution.
